Ownership and authorship parameters

• Holder = Mark holder's name (optional; defaults to 'Owner' parameter value)
• Owner = Copyright owner's name (optional; defaults to 'Author' parameter value)
• Author = Author of the work (required)
• Coauthors = Any co-authors of the work (optional)

Wording modifier parameters

• Media = Describes the type of file (optional; defaults to "file"; suggestions include "image", "animation", "video", "document", etc.)
• MediaPlural = The plural of 'Media', used for categories (optional; defaults to adding an "s" to the end of 'Media' if not specified)
• Contains = If set to non-blank, alters wording from "is work by" to "contains work by" (optional)
• Nonoriginal = If set to non-blank, alters wording from "original work by" to "work by" (optional)
• Work = Describes the type of work (optional; defaults to "work"; suggestions include "artwork", "photography", "text", "material", etc.)

Trademark and service mark parameters

• Mark = 'rtm' (® registered trademark), 'tm' (™ trademark), 'rsm' (® registered service mark), 'sm' (^sm service mark) (optional)
• ContainsMark = If set to non-blank, alters wording from "is a mark" to "contains a mark" (optional; requires 'Mark' parameter to be set)

Copyright-specific parameters

• Date = Copyright year ("YYYY") or specific date ("YYYY-MM-DD") (optional)
• Expired = If set to non-blank, alters wording to the past tense (optional)
• Country = The country where the copyright expired (optional; defaults to "the United States")

Usage parameters

Default usage wording is: All use and/or redistribution of this 'Media' requires prior written permission from 'Owner'.

• Guidelines = An external ("http://") URL to specific guidelines for using this file (optional)
• License = A non-free license name, linked to the details of the license (optional)

Category parameters

• CatAuthorName = Author's name for use in categories (if different from 'Author') (optional; defaults to 'Author' parameter value)
• CatAuthor = Indicates if the file is part of a collection of works by the same 'Author' (optional)

• CatOwnerName = Copyright owner's name (optional; defaults to 'Owner' parameter value)
• CatOwner = Indicates if the file is part of a collection of files copyright by the same 'Owner' (optional)

• Category = Freeform category parameter that overrides ALL of the following parameters if set (optional)
• CatCopy = If 'Expired' is not set, a copyright category is assigned (automatic; set to "null" to disable, any other value to override)
  • When 'Expired' is not set, [[Category:Copyrighted files|{{PAGENAME}}]]
• CatMark = If 'Mark' is set, a 'Mark'-specific category is assigned (automatic; set to "null" to disable, any other value to override)
  • When 'Mark' is 'rtm', [[Category:Registered trademarks|{{PAGENAME}}]]
  • When 'Mark' is 'tm', [[Category:Trademarks|{{PAGENAME}}]]
  • When 'Mark' is 'rsm', [[Category:Registered service marks|{{PAGENAME}}]]
  • When 'Mark' is 'sm', [[Category:Service marks|{{PAGENAME}}]]
• CatUsage = A usage category is automatically assigned also (automatic; set to "null" to disable, any other value to override)
  • When 'Guidelines' is set, [[Category:Restricted usage files|{{PAGENAME}}]]
  • When 'License' is set, [[Category:Non-freely licensed files|{{PAGENAME}}]]
  • When neither 'Guidelines' nor 'License' is set, [[Category:Non-free files|{{PAGENAME}}]]

Style parameters

• background = background CSS style (optional; default is #f7f8ff)
• border = border CSS style (optional; default is ##8888aa)
• color = color CSS style (required if 'background' is set; optional otherwise; default is black)
• Left = Left image or content (optional; defaults to File:Red copyright.svg)
• lwidth = Width of the left content area (defaults to "70px")
• Right = Right image or content (optional; defaults to blank space)
• rwidth = Width of the right content area (defaults to "70px")

Administrative parameters

Only authorized users may use these parameters to verify that permission has been received by the copyright holder to use/distribute the file here.

• Verified = 'true' if verified (required if true)
• VerifiedOn = YYYY-MM-DD or ~~~~~ (required if true)
• VerifiedBy = Linked username or ~~~ (required if true)
• VerifiedInfo = Brief details or a link to full details (optional, but highly recommended for internal materials)
